Business must be regulated. A living wage minimum wage as a matter of law is an absolute necessity.

I used to be a business owner, and I know how it works. Businesses chase each other to the bottom in how they pay wages. To some extent, they feel they have no choice, in order to be competitive with their rivals.

Minimum wage laws that force businesses to pay a living wage are the only way around that. We used to do that routinely in the United States, and workers profited from it as did businesses, which enjoyed level playing fields with other businesses.

We must go back to that more moral state of regulating businesses. It is an absolute moral necessity that we the people force businesses to pay a living wage.

They will never do so voluntarily.
