You’re upset that I’m “politicizing” the toxicity of prevalent religious anti-LGBTQ sentiment in Tennessee that leads, inevitably, to deaths like the ones I reported in my original story? You’re upset that a sports hero is pushing back against that sentiment and calling for love and acceptance instead?
Did you even read the original article with examples of the toxins that filled little Eli’s life before he ended it? If you didn’t, you should. If you do read and still believe people should not not speak up against these prevailing evils, I can’t imagine any possible way to relate to you. Nor can I imagine the point you’re trying to make. All it takes for evil to prevail is for a few good people to do nothing.
I will not be one of those people who do nothing, and I will always hold in the highest contempt those who counsel silence in the face of evident evil.
