Your point about Detroit resonates with me. As a Michigander and (until recently) a long-time resident of Detroit, I hate seeing people use the city to make points.

For one thing, the rate of violent crime in Detroit, including murder, has been dropping substantially every year for years. Somehow people never mention that.

Second, people have no idea what Detroit’s real problems are, what caused them, or how to fix them.

They just want to score racist points without acknowledging systemic racism.
