Your excellent article highlights, I think, a fundamental problem in American society. Far too many people believe, whether they admit it or not, that profit and money justify almost anything.
Just as an example, we have an entire "respected" profession called marketing that is all about lying to people – misleading, deceiving, and sometimes even outright lying too consumers for profit.
Business people lie routinely, and business schools teach them it's okay. Politicians lie routine and the American people accept it as just part of the game.
Republicans lie, Democrats lie, Independence lie.
And they all learn early in life to justify it and believe that they're not lying when they plainly are.
This is a sickness in our culture, and while Fox is absolutely guilty, they are far from alone.
