Your argument is wrong. You are drawing a moral equivalence between people who condemn minority groups and members of minority groups demanding equality and acceptance. Religions that teach that queer people are sinful and inferior are toxic, disgusting religions. People who believe those things are toxic and disgusting people.

If you have trouble understanding that, look at this parallel: Christianity in the United States for the most part used to teach the Bible called for racist segregation. Most Christiansl churches taught that it was sinful for white people to marry black people, and that black people had to live apart and be educated apart. These teachings continued right up through the 1970s.

How did decent people respond? By calling out those Christians as disgusting racists, by telling them their religious beliefs were evil and unacceptable.

That's not about haters hating. It's about calling out intolerance of minorities for what it is.

It's also about reaping what you sow.
