You would think that in a decent, ethical society, people would learn about something like the Tulsa massacre and rise up to provide justice and real support to the survivors.
Laws would be passed. Private initiatives compete with the state to provide succor and recompense.
That did not happen in Oklahoma. First, memory of the massacre was suppressed and left out of history books.
Then, when Black people started to succeed in raising awareness, it seems the general public in Oklahoma simply looked the other way, not interested.
There was no rising up, no push toward justice, no ... nothing.
That's a profound object lesson in how racist our society remains.
