You see this so often and on social media and in other public spaces where anti-trans agitators take malicious glee attacking transgender people. If you bring up trans people or issues in pretty much any public forum that is not highly moderated, somebody will crash the party with malicious glee, even if you’re writing about something as sobering as a teenage transgender person being sexually assaulted at school.

Often, the malicious glee is misdirected against a cisgender woman people presume to be trans because she doesn’t meet conventional beauty standards.

It’s terrible to watch.

I can’t wrap my mind around it. I can’t understand the depths of hatred that produce so much malicious glee.
