You remind me that early in my public writing career, I often used a line like, "one thing that binds us together as humans is that we all want to be loved and we're all insecure."

I should go back to including that sometimes, because "love agenda" really is a powerful metaphor in the quest for LGBTQ acceptance and equality.

All we're asking for is the freedom to love ourselves and our families in peace. That seems to frighten or enrage some people, but it should not.

Because we all want to be loved. That's universal.
