You put your finger on the pulse of what a many Christian organizations are dealing with right now. I’m a heathen too, but I run with some progressive Christians, and this stuff hits them hard, probably harder than people who don’t have their stake in the problem.

What makes this story particularly problematic is that Christian Youth Theater is non denominational. They don’t brand themselves as Evangelical or anything else that would practically automatically mean they are not affirming. So the message they’re sending is that generic Christians must be, by definition, anti-LGBTQ.

That isn’t true, and the implicit, false assertion makes a lot of Christians angry.
