You know who is not ignoring Kanye? White people, particularly Republicans, especially Republican talking heads. Many are using Kanye to spread a false message about racial equity in the U.S.
So in a certain respect, ignoring Kanye is like empowering or even amplifying those people.
And let's face it, Johnny; it takes a Black voice like yours to effectively rebut Kanye or people like him. Me calling him out, as a white man, would go down like the Titanic or something, no matter how good my intentions or how well founded my arguments.
But since Kanye's message is going primarily to white people (whether that's his intention or not, I don't know) then rebutting the conservative, racism-enabling message he's sending seems like an important task.
Ignoring him, for those in a good position to rebut him, seems like not the best strategy.
