You know, when people try to outlaw drag, they are telling us exactly how they feel. When they tell us that men dressing as women to sing show tunes is hyper sexual (kinda crazy, right?), they're telling us they will not tolerate us at all. When they claim children will be harmed by hearing drag queens read stories, they are intentionally or not suggesting that we are socially contagious.
The upcoming Pride season is going to be interesting. Several proposed state laws regulating drag shows would apparently criminalize drag in Pride parades.
Will we see police try to bust up parades by arresting drag queens on floats? Part of me hopes we do see that. I think it might open more people's eyes up to what's happening to LGBTQ equality in conservative states.
