You know, when I was growing up, pretty much every other white American I knew understood that racism against black people was huge. We didn’t all like it, but we had candid conversations with ourselves all the time. Some of those conversations were themselves pretty racist, frankly.

White Americans know. We really do.

The big question is, do we choose to do something about it or not?
