You know, we are all more complicated than any labels we might use to describe ourselves. We don’t reduce to labels. We USE them as helpful tools.

I think labels stop being helpful when we start believing they define us instead of us defining them.

How much better would it be to work to understand one another rather than fighting over the labels we choose?
