You know, the man you are rebutting is a professor of theology at Oxford University. He seems to be bending all his intellectual prowess into doing exactly what you fear — convincing us queer people that his God doesn't like who we are or what we are.

But despite his academic credentials, he doesn't even nod to actual, in-the-world data that shows we do best when we live our true lives.

He doesn't even nod to actual data that shows that when we try to suppress ourselves, we suffer and we sometimes we even die.

We die because of cruel, delusional, mean-spirited, ignorant religious fanatics like him.

Imagine this monster donning his Oxford garb, taking on all the outward vestiges of respectability and intellectual privilege — and then isolating himself to analyze the words of the Bible to decide what God wants for people today, as if that were an actual intellectual pursuit.

It's astonishing to me that such willfully ignorant fools are still given prominent platforms in society.

All I can say to this fool is that if he believes that pages from the Bible can tell him anything about anything real, then I'm filled with nothing but the utmost disrespect and contempt for him.

If he wants to understand society and people, if he wants to understand how to nurture and support instead of cause grievous harm, he needs to study things that are real. Not the delusional fantasies he calls theology.

What a cruel, twisted man he is, despite his Oxford garb, which is as backward and medieval as his apparently ignorant "thinking."
