You know, not for nothing, but I’m 60 (first time I’m writing those digits, by the way. Yikes!) And I’ve been in 2 years-long, cohabitating relationships, neither one of them official marriages. One of them was for 10 years, the other for 5 years. I’m single now and have been for a long time.
Yet I write about relationships and dating sometimes. The audacity! Gasp!
Of course, in my prime, I wasn’t able to marry because it was illegal for me as a gay man. Would I have tied the legal knot with either of my two long-term partners if I could have? I don’t know. Does it matter?
Keep on writing about relationships, is all I guess I’m trying to say. You are eminently well qualified.
I hope to read plenty from you on the subject in the coming year.
