You know, he could have treated his initial lack of knowledge as an opportunity to celebrate and spread knowledge about something. I mean, there's nothing wrong with being ignorant, right? That just means we don't know something. Personally, when I learn something I don't know, I think it's pretty cool. In fact, I try to spend an hour or so every evening learning about things I don't know, particularly with respect to other cultures, languages and societies. Because it's fun!
So I really don't get this guy. Yes, he was incredibly offensive, yes he was arrogant, but also he was treating not knowing something as a virtue.
Which is just ... yuck.
