You know, children occasionally physically abuse their parents. When I was a young man, there was even a famous case in the news for a while about a pair of young brothers who killed their parents.

But that doesn't change the statistics. Children are vulnerable to violence and experience it frequently at the hands of adults. Just because the script gets flipped once in awhile doesn't mean we all run around denying reality. Of course, we work to put systems in place to protect children.

Just like we would should be working to change the system that has resulted in the statistics you mention. Women in our society really are abused by men, highly disproportionately.

And we should be doing something about that.
