You know, all sorts of people have privilege. As a cis white gay man, I have inherently more privilege than a Black trans woman or a Latinx lesbian.
But that Oppressions Olympics trope is a good one. Nobody wins. All queer people should feel welcome to be out and proud about their identity at Pride. That’s basic.
But you know, if you want to talk practicality, there are theoretically a hell of a lot more bisexual people in the world than there are Kinsey 6 gay and lesbian people.
Increasing the number of self-identified queer people helps all our communities by increasing our collective power.
I hate to be crass about raw political calculation, but I’d think people would consider that before knee-jerk reacting against bisexual people being visible in queer communities and spaces.
