You know, I've read several stories over the past few months about women who could have died but who had the money to travel out of state to have their complications taken care of.

Now somebody has died, and she's a black woman, and I'm not surprised. I'm horrified, but I'm not even slightly surprised.

Abortion bans were always going to be most dangerous for poorer or more marginalized women. And here we go.

This is going to continue. More women are going to die, and many of them are going to be black.

I'm filled with grief and despair over this horrifying moral regression in my nation.

I'm filled with fury at the Republican Party for pushing and enabling this atrocity.
