You don’t have to understand an identity to respect a person. You don’t have to academically agree with an identity to respect a person.

These faux equality organizations play this bait and switch game all the time. “We’re just having a conversation,” they’ll say. “We don’t want to violate anybody’s civil rights or mess with their equality. Pinky swear!”

So they lace their websites and other public-facing information with “just discussion” ideology while they work more covertly to hurt real people who aren’t hurting anyone.

P.S. A little birdy told me a bunch of MPs at the Brighton Labour conference were spotted with a copy of my op-ed in the Los Angeles Blade about UK human rights violations. I’m told they were shouting at one another over it. I do hope they are feeling very uncomfortable.
