You can say that again. One of my more recent articles is about a Roman Catholic bishop fighting a lawsuit against his diocese in a matter of a priest molesting a boy. The bishop had his lawyers file a brief suggesting that the boy, who was 12 when the abuse started, must have been gay anyway given he seemed to participate willingly in his abuse. Seriously, the brief is pretty much that direct.
Men and boys can’t be raped, they must want it, and if they didn’t object they must be gay anyway, which must negate any harm.
That’s how this Roman Catholic bishop sees it anyway, and he’s far from alone looking at sexual assault and rape in really terrible ways, especially when men and boys are the victims.
