You can change your featured image, so often for display purposes I will select a photo from the middle of my story instead of the one I use at the top of the story.

Or if I really want the one at the top, and it just doesn’t crop right in the feed display, I’ll crop a version myself with Window’s built in photo app so it shows exactly what I want in display. Then I’ll stick it down at the bottom of the article under my signature where nobody will notice it. And I’ll select that photo as my display photo, and leave the unaltered one up at the top of my story.
