Yocheved, my late partner Lenny was Jewish, Orthodox in his childhood and a member of a Reform congregation later in his life.

I have never felt more warmly accepted as a queer man in communities of faith than I have among observant Jewish people — even among those I knew had a religious objection to homosexuality.

I don’t want to overly romanticize the situation, of course. I know it’s not necessarily all sunshine and roses.

But I think some conservative Christians could learn a good bit about love and acceptance from some conservative Jews.
