Yet Jesus, in Christian mythology, turned water to wine for a wedding party. 🤦♂️ Drinking alcohol was pervasive in his culture, and rather than speaking out against it, he participated!
Sometimes, it's really good to know that Christian beliefs really are just entirely invented. When I was a closeted gay Christian teenager, I challenged our church's youth pastor about their stance on alcohol, demonstrating pretty conclusively in a presentation that there is no basis for the belief the drinking alcohol is a sin.
He stopped me halfway through my presentation, even though it was grounded in facts, reality, and serious scholarship. I already knew that Christianity is mostly ignorant bullshit, but that was one nail in the coffin for me.
