Yes, Tara Fitness! The very idea that our human and civil rights are privileges to be awarded or withheld by the whim of the majority is deeply and provocatively insulting.

The language employed by the anti-LGBTQ bigots during the campaign was designed to question our humanity and to deny our places as equal people at the human table.

Your article reminds me of something I just wrote yesterday, as a matter of fact. While I was particularly addressing shocking and hateful language the Roman Catholic Church uses against us, the theme I was riffing on was a far more general one.

Morally condemning LGBTQ people is wrong. It is in fact actually evil, in that it tends to increase human suffering and decrease human happiness.

Directing hateful and shaming language against innocent and intrinsically harmless people must end.

Your Liberal Party incited that language with its ill-conceived plebiscite, and for that, you have every right to be angry.
