Yes! Rand's story is outstanding. For another super encouraging story, look at Faye Wild's account in Prism & Pen this morning. She just participated in her hometown's first-ever Pride march. Despite taking place in deep-red territory, she found herself dancing down the street, handing out candy, and being cheered on for it by the crowd.
There was an "incident," as she also reports, but it was quickly contained.
Pride organizers are learning well from the Parasol Patrol and other non-violent guardians of Pride!
They remind me of the long-defunct Pink Panther Patrol that was also dedicated to non-violent protection for queer people. I suspect that one day the Parasol Patrol will take a proud place in history books.
