Just yesterday, a cisgender straight guy, who probably thinks of himself as liberal or progressive, hijacked the comments section of a Prism & Pen story by Natalie Ohio to preach about how butch/femme lesbian tropes invalid trans people's decisions to transition.

He even tried to use Judith Butler to reinforce his transphobic bigotry!

I was astounded, because here's this cisgender straight guy breaking into a conversation among queer people to tell us how we've got it wrong about transgender identity. By responding to a cisgender gay woman!

Entirely missing from the equation was his actually talking to trans people. Listening to trans people. Caring what trans people like you say about themselves.

Keep telling your stories! Obviously, some people really need it!
