Yes! I'm thinking about how in the U.S. a film on these lines could be about West Virginia rather than Wales — Appalachia being a region known for both exploited, impoverished workers and mistrust of queer people. Sadly, the Republican Party is all too skilled at tricking blue-collar voters into voting against their own economic interests, and so West Virginia is solidly GOP.

This is definitely the kind of film we need!
