Yes! I’m sure encouraged and warmed by the response of Reform and Conservative Jewish traditions toward LGBTQ people.

It’s not that certain Christian traditions don’t do the same thing. Episcopalians in the United States are very affirming. But in the United States, Reform and Conservative congregations make up such a large percentage of all observant Jewish people.

It’s kind of a cliche and not a true one that people of the Abrahamic faiths must struggle with issues surrounding gender and sexual minorities.

Having been married to a Jewish man and embraced by his Jewish family and community, I’ve experienced up close how that does not have to be true. I think it’s wonderful how Jewish people of faith are leading the way.
