Yes, I'm merely pointing out that most attempted, conscious coinings fail to catch on. Homophobia itself wasn't coined on purpose. Its popularity is an accident.

Anyone wishing for a new word to catch on could probably do worse than study the processes by which intentional coinings (Like LGBT, for example) have succeeded in the past, then try to copy tactics.

Even then, success is not guaranteed.
