Yes, I should have hit that better in the article. I was focused on respiratory droplets, because they seem to be commonly responsible for transmission in people who do not yet know they have the illness. During the period of time before people develop rashes, they are still infectious. It’s a lot more likely, I think, for people who don’t know they have monkeypox to go to a club or sauna. Once they develop rashes, they probably aren’t going to be doing a lot of that.

Or at least, that’s what I was thinking as I wrote.
