Yes, I really wanted to explore the intersection of black and queer in this article, but I wasn’t able to find enough information about the family to write with real authority and respect. I hope the photo I chose speaks for itself. I understand it isn’t easy to be Black in Texas. It clearly isn’t easy to be gay.
