Yes! I find when editing new fiction writers that one of my biggest inputs is eliminating most dialogue tags, except where needed for clarity.
My usual comment is, "if the reader already knows who is speaking, get out of the way."
Sometimes I find that newer writers aren't familiar with structural convention in dialogue, like a new speaker gets a new paragraph. But readers, even if they couldn't state what convention is exactly, usually are familiar. So it's worthwhile learning to use structure to indicate who is speaking rather than depending on heavy tag usage, which can feel clunky and get in the way of authentic speaking rhythm.
