Yes, critics said the same things about the Stonewall rioters of 1969 and about Queer Nation and Act Up in the 1990s, calling the movements needlessly hostile. Those critics have, by the light of history, been shown to have been wrong.
Anger is an appropriate response to oppression. A necessary response. Often a very effective response.
As to violence, I dispute your premise. If anti-trans activists have been subject to significant violence anywhere, I've never seen reports, and I play close attention. Trans people, however, frequently suffer physical violence, at greatly disproportionate levels compared to the general public or to anti-trans activists.
