Yes! Coming out is not an event; it's a process that never ends.

Even in my 50s, as a business owner, I had to make choices almost every single day about how open to be with associates and customers... and the consequences of my choices could be quite significant.

I could keep my personal life very close (like at business conventions and so forth where lots of people were open and bonding with one another, cementing relationships that could lead to business opportunities) and have people think of me as cold and unfriendly. Or I could be more open and have people realize I'm gay. I usually chose to be relatively open, and that usually went okay, but not always.

As a result, I had to be on my toes all the time, and that could get tiring, to say the least.

Just as an example of how coming out never ends.
