Yes! By at least the early 80s, I often heard gay people praising PV as a fabulous, relatively safe place to visit. So for basically all of my adult life, I've thought of the city as something of a queer destination, up there in North America maybe with Provincetown or Palm Springs as a queer resort ideal.

Yet PV doesn't really get the press attention other gay vacation spots get. I'm glad to see you writing about it, and with such loving detail!
