Yes, as I mentioned to David Wade Chambers, the most difficult part of this issue is banning G.O.A.L. from the parade as an entity. I would support having them march if they did so in civilian clothes, to emphasize their distinction from the NYPD as an institution — the way they actually did march until recently. Their presence in the parade used to serve as a protest against oppressive NYPD behavior. Today, when they march in uniform, they (I’m sure unintentionally) send a message that the NYPD is on our side — which tragically is nothing close to the truth on the ground.
