Yes and yes! It's funny, most of my life, the men I've been attracted to and have dated have been roughly my age. But my decade-long first "marriage" was with a man 20 years older. And my second was with a man 10 years younger.

Both relationships were unexpected. (By me, lol) But I suppose my life would have been infinitely less joyful if I'd let the age gaps disqualify them from consideration.

I wouldn't say age difference is meaningless in a relationship. But I would say keeping an open mind is very meaningful, indeed.
