Think some states wouldn't work to restrict access to contraception? Some of the very same conservative religious activists working to make abortion illegal also oppose contraception. Some of them have worked openly to restrict women's access to contraception.
The idea that the constitution does not protect the most basic of liberties like bodily autonomy and self-determination is absurd. The founders themselves warned against the tendency to restrict personal liberty, one of the reasons some of them were reluctant to enumerate a Bill of Rights.
They were afraid of people like Samuel Alito coming along and saying rights are restricted to those enumerated or rooted in history.
