Yes, absolutely sometimes gay people and trans people who believe Christian bullshit about themselves are victims. But these victims rarely describe themselves as Side B Christians, who are highly likely to advocate and promote homophobic theology.

The tenured Ivy League professor of theology I mentioned obliquely in my article is no victim. He's a powerful man with a powerful platform powerfully advocating evil belief systems. He's no victim, he's a homophobic monster despite the fact that he describes himself as a gay man. He doesn't need to be shown respect, he needs to be told to sit down and shut up.

His teaching directly leads to oppression of LGBTQ people. He can be fairly described as a traitor or an Uncle Tom.

This goes for most self-identified LGBTQ people who describe themselves as Side B. It does not necessarily apply to LGBTQ people who are struggling with communities and families that reject them for religious reasons, who don't know how to escape their oppression.

There's a big difference.
