Yep, reading and music are the very best way to learn a foreign language, in my experience. I learned Russian the old fashioned way, actually, at a total-immersion US military school. 🤣

But for those of us mere mortals without that kind of access, pop culture is a wonderful approach.

I mastered French by reading novels I loved, with a dictionary at my elbow, watching films, and devouring pop music while transcribing lyrics.

And hey, without scowling Soviet-era military defectors as professors, I had a lot more fun. Lol!
