Yep, I used to get worried that I wasn’t losing weight when I was training to run marathons. I needed to weigh as little as possible if I wanted my times to decrease significantly.

But often what was happening is the strength training I was doing at the same time was adding muscle to my legs, which is what I wanted to be doing in the short-term. Body fat analysis helped me figure it out.

By the way, it might be worth pointing out to transgender guys new to T that they might add muscle more quickly then before they started HRT.

Testosterone helps the body convert food to muscle. So what looks like ‘bad’ weight gain might be ‘good’ if more muscle is what they’re going for.
