Yeah, I wrote quite a negative story about Leonardo before it was even released officially. (My editor at the Los Angeles Blade got me a press preview link.) I feel the same way you do about it.

You know, we Americans are often as obsessed with British royalty as people in the UK. And American gay people or not immune. I'm sure that's one of the reasons why film was made, and why the book was so popular.

I'm enjoying Young Royals now, thanks in part to getting an automated recommendation for it after I finished watching Red White & Royal Blue. It feels a lot more realistic to me and a lot more on target with current LGBTQ issues.

Of course, Young Royals is a drama not a rom-com, so I guess it's not really fair to compare the two.

But comparisons aside, I still think Red White & Royal Blue could have been a much better film than it is.
