Yaaaas! Western Michigan is very conservative. I should know, I live here, though not close to Kalamazoo, which has a reputation for being slightly less conservative than most of the region.

That reputation notwithstanding, a happy, positive, protest-free Pride in Kalamazoo is a very big deal.
