Wow, what a story! How terrifying.

My sister babysat too, starting when she was around 12. Isn’t it amazing how much responsibility we used to give young girls?

Today, many parents wouldn’t allow a 12-year-old to be home alone, let alone be in charge of young children.

I don’t know if that’s good or bad.

Us boys made money mowing lawns, shoveling snow, and delivering newspapers, so I never thought about it.

Come to think of it, boys don’t deliver newspapers anymore. Grown-ups have those jobs now.

Isn’t that something?
