Wow, this is such a a different sort of phenomenon than the queer-club status quo, where cis gay men often gather in expensive venues for "circuit" parties there aren't exactly welcoming to others. Queer women's parties have long been expected to have a different vibe — less monied, less elite, more simple and plain.

And while that's a vibe many queer women seem to want —and of course it's perfectly okay to value a particular esthetic— it's wonderful to see queer women giving themselves permission (and organizing) to party in ways other groups take for granted.

And speaking of parties, you really painted this one vividly. Thanks for the entré into a very cool world!
