Wow, I just read the article in the Christian Post. It's really wild in its violent metaphors and moral denunciations. The author says he doesn't look down on LGBTQ people in a sentence right after after he calls us “shameful,” and a few sentences before he says the rainbow flag should be painted black.
Then, like so many Bible waving haters, he warns that the nation (as a whole) is headed toward fiery judgment if LGBTQ people don't "repent."
I'm surprised, though I guess I shouldn't be, that he uses the story of Sodom as a metaphor of homosexuality. That's a pretty uneducated view of the Bible, something most Bible scholars and theologians dismiss as wildly misinterpreted, but that doesn't stop this guy.
He just preaches hate, paragraph after paragraph, assuring his readers the hate they're seeing isn't really hate, encouraging them to feel good about themselves and their moral condemnation, because they may just be averting God's judgment.
It's really discouraging that a publication like the Christian Post would print something so nakedly hateful. This kind of sentiment absolutely stirs up violence.
Amplifying it is irresponsible at the very least. Shame on the Post.
