Whew! I’m relieved, because as someone who spends a lot of time trying to help other writers, I see I’m not committing any of the egregious sins you speak of. ;-)

HELPING means helping, I agree. Supporting and building up. Complimenting the good stuff and showing how to strengthen the stuff that might not be strong enough… yet.

And never presuming your own stuff is somehow a pinnacle of perfection.
