Whenever I tweet about incidents like this, and I do so regularly, I can count on someone preaching to me that compliance with police commands equals staying alive.

But the fact is, in many cases that simply isn’t true.

But even if it were true? I don’t want to live in the kind of society where not following the “command” of a police officer means he can execute you.

I suppose most people don’t want to live in that kind of society. Why do conservative white people make those arguments anyway? They know they are not at risk. They know police officers are highly unlikely to execute them.

It’s all about racism. It really is.
