When my partner and I raised a child, he grew up to be straight, which we figured he would, because most kids grow up to be straight. He was proud of his gay foster dads, though, often loudly so.

Thank God we lived in Montreal and not Florida.

This conservative panic about grooming is absurd but well coordinated. I've been tweeting about Florida's proposed law for several weeks now, including promoting my own articles, and accusations of grooming are ever present and reflexive. Oppose the law, and get called a pedophile, that's just how it works right now - and it's ridiculous.

I don't know what's so hard for straight people to understand, because all of them already talk to their children about straight relationships. About boyfriends and girlfriends. About husbands and wives. They know perfectly and personally well that they can talk about such things without ever mentioning sex and without children ever presuming something sexual.

But the moment a same-sex couple is involved, the very same people who have zero difficulty talking to young children about straight couples start to run around in circles and scream and shout.

Let's be honest here. These people are either stupid or intentionally dishonest. I'll leave it for the reader to try to figure out which.
